mmm Tofu

I've had a lot of questions about food. This picture is of boiled tofu that the Kyoto region is very famous for. I was extremely fortunate enough to be taken to a very traditional style Japanese restaurant in Nara by "my Japanese family". At this restaurant, we had a 14 course ALL tofu meal! It was very interesting for me considering I haven't really ever eaten a lot of tofu before.

Karaoke Heaven

AHH! EARTHQUAKE!

Ok so I know that Japan is famous for earthquakes, but this week has been absolutely ridiculous! In 3 days there have already been about 4 earthquakes! Thankfully, they have all been relatively small but big enough to terrify me and to shake whatever building I am in. Everyone tells me I'll get accustomed to it, but I really don't know about that........

Kinkakuji (Golden Temple)

Kinkakuji - Kyoto! This is a very famous Temple in Japan, also known as the Golden Temple. It was originally built in 1397 but was burnt down by some crazed Monk in 1950. It was reconstructed in '55.

So this first entry is to prove that I can adapt to technology...Yes people, I am blogging. I may not be able to start my computer sometimes but I am determined to facilitate communication with those far away the best way that I can.
